Welcome to dA.

I hope that, since cana (French nickname for ganja) is illegal in the US, your dA account isn't illegal too...

Cheers from the other side of the Lake. ;) :)
:icontafelrand:

Yes, our website works to promote the legalization of cannabis in the United States.
:icontafelrand:
thats a good initative. ive visited it. good thing
its (kind of) legal in the netherlands aye! But... i thought it is wrong to
say cannabis isnt a drug, because it is. albeit a soft drug, but it still is drugs
just as much like any other. You still have to be moderate with use. smoking it too much
will cause you to remember stuff not so good, and if you are mentally un-stable (dorment or already on the surface) can cause psychoses (losing touch with reality, google it) and such. So, when its used moderatly, it can be good fun, but just be careful because IT IS A DRUG.
i think america should worry more about that other socially accepted drug
called alcohol.. it gets abused daily by millions and millions of people all around the world. america has its priorities turned upside down if you ask me!!

We do agree the our country has its priority turned upside down.
However, we do not agree that cannabis is a drug. It is a plant, grown straight from the ground up. There are no additives.
As far as the pharmaceutical definition of a drug, we do believe that it can be used as treatment for mental and physical illnesses.
Generally, a drug falls under the category of being habit forming.
Cannabis is not habit forming, it is not addictive... Research proves this. Further more, no one has ever died from it. We do agree that it should be used in moderation.
:iconstayintwisted:
sorry a drug is any substance that affects the body,, pot is by definition a drug,, being organic or natural does not eliminate it's effects,, just as 'shrooms and peyote are drugs, also straight from nature ( oh and I am a smoker as well,, even if I am going to be rather limited for a while--just got busted and have to go through a darned drug program with all the UAs and stuff

hell girl I wouldn't keep offering to spend the rest of my life with you if I didn't value you a lot. :rose::rose::rose:
:icontafelrand:
my friend works in a hotel and there are americans there who smoke weed
over there, and talk all big and smoking pure. NEVER smoke dutch weed pure if your not from
here... ours is MUCH stronger, they pass out or have a bad trip, wacko's.

You are def wrong about it not being habit forming. Then why are several of my friends seriously addicted? Its not a phycical addiction but more of a mental addiction.
This is from a dutch site about weed. I find it a good cause you are fighting for, but you must know what weed really is, a drug.

Health risks

Cannabis has harmful effects on health, paranoia and panic attacks can cause long-term cognitive functions and psychomotor disrupted by consumption. Also short term memory loss can occur. This can happen especially at high dosage. Cannabis can also have a demotivating influence, even a few days after the effective use. It can also revive latent mental diseasis. (Bad translation= Assuming that the use of cannabis during a luxury (= war) may have a latent psychosis, or hallucinations may call that may be related to rare side effects of medication, such as Enalapril). It is often assumed that long-term (more than 2 years) cannabis use can give impetus to psychosis and schizophrenia in people with predisposition to these diseases.

People who are depressed or have other serious mental disorder or highly sensitive people, the use of cannabis may have a negative effect and strengthen existing complaints.

Negative side effects of regular use of cannabis are at increased risk of cancer, respiratory problems (specifically for the smoking of cannabis, absent in oral administration) and psychological dependence with regular use.

It is possible to use behavioral testing risks. Hence, we find or use in a risky manner, or that such use is just recreational. Cannabis addiction brings risks.
